"Outdoor play is one of the best possible ways for children to learn. It provides them with an abundance of learning opportunities to develop negotiation skills, problem solving, self regulation strategies, social skills and healthy relationships with their peers and adults. while creating a sense of adventure. Being physically active, spending time outdoors and connecting with nature can affect emotions and allow for relaxation, calmness and a heightened sense of well being."(Learning Outdoors in the Pre School, CCEA)

In BIPS Nursery we spend vast amounts of time outdoors and have weekly forest school activities in our on site forest land. As the Spring weather finally appears, the children have been checking in on our class tadpoles now they are back in the school pond and are having lots of opportunities to develop their gross motor skills.
